How to keep score in Padel

Padel uses tennis scoring with one big twist โ€” the golden point. Here is how scoring works on the enclosed court.

Tennis-style scoring

Padel scores exactly like tennis: 15, 30, 40, games and sets. Win 6 games by 2 for a set, tiebreak at 6-6, best of 3 sets.

The golden point

Many padel formats use the golden point: at 40-40 there is no advantage โ€” the very next point decides the game, and the receiving team chooses which side to receive on. It makes deuce games fast and dramatic.

Walls are in play

Padel is played in an enclosed glass court and the walls are in play โ€” the ball may rebound off your own back wall before you return it. It does not change scoring, but it defines the game.
